2010 Canadian RG Group Championships & Elite Canada Competition, Toronto, March 5, 2010

We sent a team (4 girls) to the competition and won one gold (Junior Duo), one silver, and two bronze. This was the second time our club won the Canadian National RG Group Champion's title.


2010 Ontario Winter Games, Muskoka, Ontario, March 4-6, 2010

We sent 9 gymnasts to the 2010 Ontario Winter Games. Our girls' team won one gold medal, 2 silvers, and 1 bronze. The medals were based on overall group performance only. About 200 athletes from across Ontario attended the Games.

At the 2009 Rhythmic Gymnastics Provincials Championships, hosted by York Stars and Silhouettes of York, our club had a great turn out. With 20 individual athletes, 14 qualified and with 4 provincials groups, all qualified. Congratulations to Gaby, level 5A, and Laurel, level 6A, who are the new provincial champions in their level ! Our all around silver medalists, Christa, level 6A, and Cleo, level 3B, also had outstanding performances. Congratulations to our bronze medal all around winners, Diana - level 5A, Nayeli, level 4B, pre-novice AGG and pre-novice group of five. Pre-novice Duo (Sophie & Emilia): 4th, Pre-novice Duo (Sarah & Maya):5th. Rounding out the top eight in the all around category are, in 7th, Melanie, level 1B; in 8th, Mi Yen, level 2A; in 7th, Kaitlyn, level 3A; in 6th, Vivian, level 4A; in 5th, Kristin, level 4B; in 4th, Chantal, level 5A; and in 8th, Jaimee, level 5B. Chinese Rhythmic Gymnastics Team Visit Our Club, August 10-11, 2008

A delegation of 25 Chinese gymnasts & coaches visited our club on August 10-11, 2008. About 30 gymnasts from our club did workshops with them and had training together. It was a great success and our girls had a lot of fun sharing gymnastics experience with their Chinese partners. The visit was arranged according to a bilateral agreement by the two clubs. Our club had previously organized two group visits to China in 2000 and 2004. The Chinese club had paid return visits to Canada in 2001 and 2008.

2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games, Shanghai, China, October 2-11, 2007

We wish to congratulate Christina for winning gold for Canada at the 2007 World Games! Christina won one gold in rope and 4 silvers, including the all-around. We'd also like to congratulate the other 3 Team Canada Rhythmic Gymnasts (Catherine, Emily, and Teagan), who had all trained in our club before the Games, for winning gold for Canada at this high profile event. The 4 girls had won a total of 20 medals for Canada (9 gold, 8 silver, 3 bronze)! There were over 10,000 athletes, coaches and delegation members from more than 160 countries attended the Games.

The club had the honour to host the 2007 Ontario Provincial Championships at Ashbury College in Rockcliffe Park on June 2-3, 2007. It was a great success in terms of organization and competition results. We sent 28 girls to the competition and won 4 gold, 10 silver, 17 bronze, and 30 ribbons (4th-8th). There were over 170 gymnasts from 19 clubs in Ontario participated in the competition. This was the second time the club hosted such a high profile event in Ottawa.

The Club has had the honour to receive the 2006 Club Hosting Recognition Award from Gymnastics Ontario acknowledging the support the club had provided to host GO sanctioned events in the past season.


10th Anniversary Celebration, October 28, 2006

The Club is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year! Although a relatively young club, we feel that the club's accomplishments and the growth of the sport in Ottawa merit a celebration. We had therefore organized a gala dinner to commemorate this special milestone, and to pay tribute to past and present athletes, coaches and volunteers of the club. Over 100 gymnasts, coaches, family members, and friends attended the gala at the Algonquin College Banquet Hall.


Special Olympics National Championships, Brandon, Manitoba, July 21-22, 2006

We'd like to congratulate Christina (level 3) who competed in the 2006 Special Olympics National Championships. She won 5 gold medals (include an all-around gold) and will represent Canada to compete in the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai, China.


Congratulations to Amanda on receiving the 2006 Cappie Award for Best Dancer in Canada! The Cappies is a US organization that has branch in Canada. Amanda was one of the four finalists and beat out the other three to take the win at the Gala held at the National Arts Centre on June 12, 2006. She is the first capppie winner in Canada for "Best Dancer in a Play". Amanda has been doing Rhythmic Gymnastics for 10+ years. "Gym was very good for Amanda in achieving this", her proud mom Lyla said.

Congratulations to our head coach Xinhong Jin on receiving the 2006 National Wild Rose Domestic Development Coaching Award. This award is given annually to one exceptional coach in Canada who works directly with gymnasts and also develops programming and initiatives that build the sport from the grass-roots. Way to Go Xinhong!

Our professional performance group was invited to perform at Chateau Laurier for a big corporate event. The performance went well and everyone enjoyed the show.

2005 Special Olympic Provincial Championships, St. Catherines, July 29-30, 2005

We'd like to congratulate Ada (level 4) and Christina (level 3) who competed in the 2005 Special Olympic Provincial Championships. They won 9 gold (include 2 all-around individual gold each) and one silver. Way to go Ada & Christina !

The club had the honor to be invited by NCC again to participate in the 2005 Canada Day Parade along Parliament Hill. 16 club members joined the parade. It was the third Canada Day Parade we attended in the Ottawa area.

We sent 22 inter-club and provincial competitive gymnasts to the competition and won 16 gold (include 3 all-around gold), 12 silver, 6 bronze, and 17 ribbons (4th-8th). Over 200 gymnasts from 17 clubs in Ontario and Quebec participated in the competition.


Eastern Ontario Provincial Qualifier, Toronto, April 2-3, 2005

We sent 21 gymnasts to the competition and won 20 gold (include 4 all-around gold), 9 silver, 6 bronze, and 30 ribbons (4th-8th). There were over 80 gymnasts from 8 clubs in Eastern Ontario participated in the competition.


The 15th Annual Etobicoke Invitational Competition, Toronto, March 11-13, 2005

We sent 13 girls to the competition and won 24 medals (3 gold, 9 silver, 12 bronze) and 11 ribbons (4th-8th). Over 160 gymnasts (both provincial and national) from 15 clubs participated in the competition from Ontario and Quebec.


2005 Canadian Rhythmic Gymnastics Group Championships, Vancouver, Feb 25-27, 2005

We wish to congratulate Sarah and Amanda for winning silver for Ontario at the 2005 Canadian Rhythmic Gymnastics Group Championships! There were about 120 national level rhythmic gymnasts from across Canada attended the competition. This was the first time our club gymnasts competed at the national level.

We sent 25 inter-club and provincial competitive gymnasts to the competition and won 20 gold (include 4 all-around gold), 17 silver, 4 bronze, and 23 ribbons (4th-8th). We also won the 2005 Kanata Cup again (awarded to team with the best competition results). Over 80 gymnasts from 8 clubs in Ontario and Quebec participated in the competition.


2005 Crystal Cup, Montreal, Feb 12-13, 2005

We sent 18 girls to the 2005 Crystal Cup in Montreal. Our girls won 5 gold,6 bronze, and 23 ribbons (4th-8th). Over 100 gymnasts from 6 clubs in Ontario and Quebec participated in the competition.

We sent 16 gymnasts to the competition and won 9 gold (include 3 all-around gold), 6 silver, 3 bronze, and many ribbons (4th-8th). There were about 120 gymnasts from Quebec and Ontario participated in the competition.


Eastern Ontario Provincial Qualifier, Toronto, April 3-4, 2004

We sent 19 gymnasts to the competition and won 14 gold (include 2 all-around gold), 14 silver, 5 bronze, and many ribbons (4th-8th). There were about 85 gymnasts from 8 clubs in Eastern Ontario participated in the competition.


2004 Ontario Winter Games, London, March 9-14, 2004

We sent 4 gymnasts to the 2004 Ontario Winter Games. Our girls' team won one gold, one silver, one bronze, and one ribbon (4th-8th). The medals were based on overall group performance only. 186 athletes from across Ontario attended the event.


The 14th Annual Etobicoke Invitational Competition, Toronto, February 27-29, 2004

We sent 8 girls to the competition and won 13 medals (6 silver, 7 bronze) and 16 ribbons (4th-8th). 160 gymnasts (both provincial and national) from 18 clubs participated in the competition from Ontario and Quebec.

We sent 19 girls to the competition and won 10 gold (include 3 all-around gold), 13 silver, 13 bronze, and many ribbons (4th-8th). We also won the 2004 Kanata Cup (awarded to team with the best competition results). Over 50 gymnasts from 6 clubs in Ontario and Quebec participated in the competition.

The club had the honor to be invited by NCC again to participate in the 2003 Canada Day Parade along Parliament Hill. 17 club members joined the parade. It was the first Canada Day Parade in the Ottawa area.


2003 World Games, Dublin, Ireland, June 20-29, 2003

We wish to congratulate Ada Chan for winning gold for Canada at the 2003 World Games! Ada won five medals in rhythmic gymnastics: gold in ball, silver in hoop and all-round, and bronze in ribbon and rope. There were over 7000 athletes from 160 countries attended the Games.

We wish to congratulate all competitive gymnasts who competed in the 2003 Provincial Championships. We won the Provincial Championship for senior (4) group. Total medals won: 2 Gold, 5 silver, 2 bronze, and 13 ribbons (4th-8th).

We sent 5 gymnasts to the competition and won 2 gold (include one all-around gold), 2 silver, 1 bronze, and many ribbons (4th-8th). There were about 50 gymnasts from 16 clubs in Ontario participated in the competition.


Red Ribbon Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Competition, Toronto, May 31, 2003

We sent four inter-club competitive groups (20 gymnasts) to the competition. Child Category: Team I Ottawa Rhythmic Dynamic: All-around silver medal; Team II Ottawa Rhythmic Elite: All-around bronze medal. Pre-Teen Category: Ottawa Rhythmic Future: All-around bronze medal. Teen Category: The Most Original Team Award. Free routine: third place. We also won The Club with the Most Gymnasts Registered award. There were 200+ gymnasts from 11 clubs participated in the competition. The medals were based on overall group performance only.


Eastern Ontario Provincial Qualifier, Toronto, May 10, 2003

We sent 16 girls to the competition and won 13 gold (include 4 all-around & 2 group gold), 3 silver, 2 bronze, and many ribbons (4th-8th). There were 102 gymnasts from 8 clubs in Eastern Ontario participated in the competition.

We sent 16 girls to the competition and won 13 gold (include 4 all-around gold), 5 silver, 2 bronze, and many ribbons (4th-8th). We also won the 2003 Kanata Cup (awarded to team with the best competition results). Over 60 gymnasts from 8 clubs in Ontario and Quebec participated in the competition.


2003 Crystal Cup, Montreal, Feb 2, 2003

We sent 14 girls to the 2003 Crystal Cup in Montreal. Our girls won 2 all-around trophies, 12 gold, 10 silver, 7 bronze, and 11 ribbons (4th-8th).


25th Winterlude Opening Ceremony performance at Major Hill Park, Jan 31, 2003

The club had the honor to be invited by NCC to perform at the 25th Winterlude Opening Ceremony at Major Hill Park on January 31, 2003. 12 of our gymnasts participated in the performance.


Champion Day at Wonderland, September 22, 2002

Eleven of our gymnasts who won gold medals at the 2002 Ontario Rhythmic Gymnastics Provincial Championships were invited to have a free tour of Wonderland on September 22. Each gymnast received a nice plaque inscribed with her name.


2002 Summer Camp, June - August, 2002

We had a very successful summer camp. Our girls had learned a lot of new skills and are ready for a new exciting season! Our guest coach this year is Erika-Leigh Stirton, who was 1998 Commonwealth Games Champion and 3 times Canadian National Champion.

The club had the honor to be invited by NCC to perform on Canada Day at Parliament Hill this year again. We sent 16 gymnasts to perform individual and group routines.


Red Ribbon Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Competition, Stittsville, June 1, 2002

We sent 22 inter-club competitive gymnasts to the competition. Our Child Dynamic group won the first place in the creative routine and all-around bronze medal. We also won many ribbons.


2002 Ontario Provincial Championships, Ottawa, May 17-19, 2002

The club had the honour to host the 2002 Ontario Provincial Championships at the University of Ottawa on May 17-19, 2002. It was a great success in terms of organization and competition results. We sent 17 girls to the Championships. 11 girls won gold medals (3 groups). 4 girls won bronze (group and individual). Our girls also won 14 ribbons (4th-8th) and 3 all-around trophies. There were 182 gymnasts participated in the event from across Ontario.


May 4-5, 2002, York Stars Invitational

We sent 7 girls to the York Stars Invitational and won 1 silver, 3 bronze, and 8 ribbons (4th-8th).


Cayuga Group Routines Demo, Cayuga, Ontario, April 20, 2002

We sent 7 girls (teen group) to the Cayuga Group Routines Demo. Our group routine won a trophy. There were over 200 gymnasts and dancers participated in the event from across Ontario.


2002 East Divisional Provincial Qualifier, Toronto, April 12-13, 2002

We sent 19 girls to the East Qualifier competition and won 12 medals (6 gold, 5 silver, 1 bronze) and 8 ribbons (4th-8th). The medals include two all-around gold medals for individual routines and two gold medals for group routines.


Rhythmik Quebec Invitational, Montreal, March 22-24, 2002

We sent 11 girls to the competition and won 13 medals (6 gold, 3 silver, 4 bronze) and 16 ribbons (4th-8th), as well as an all-around trophy.


2002 Ontario Winter Games, Guelph, March 7-9, 2002

We sent 2 girls to the 2002 Ontario Winter Game. Our girls' team won a group bronze medal. The medals were based on overall group performance only.


The 12th Annual Etobicoke Invitational Competition, Toronto, February 22-24, 2002

We sent 13 girls to the competition and won 8 medals (5 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze) and 17 ribbons (4th-8th). 147 gymnasts (both provincial and national) from 14 clubs participated in the competition. The medals include two all-around gold medals for individual routines.


July 22-31, 2001, Chinese Rhythmic Gymnastics Team Visit Our Club

Three Chinese Rhythmic Gymnasts (national level), their coach, and four officials visited our club on July 22-31, 2001, About 20 gymnasts from our club did workshops with them and had training together. It was a great success and our girls had a lot of fun sharing rhythmic gymnastics experiences with their Chinese partners.


Canada Day performance at Parliament Hill, July 1, 2001

The club was invited by CBC to perform on Canada Day at Parliament Hill on July 1, 2001, together with some other famous singers, musicians, and artists. We sent 12 gymnasts (both competitive and recreational groups) to perform hoop and ribbon routines, choreographed by the main theme of the IV Games of La Francophonie. The show was aired alive by CBC across Canada at the noon and was well received. People are especially impressed by the five Olympic rings formed by the hoop girls. Some of our gymnasts' pictures were also featured by the Ottawa Citizen.


2001 Red Ribbon Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Competition, Stittsville, June 9, 2001

We sent five inter-club competitive groups (34 gymnasts) to the 2001 Red Ribbon Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Competition in Stittsville on June 9, 2001. Child Category: Team I Ottawa Rhythmic Future: All-around gold medal; Team II Ottawa Rhythmic Dynamic: All-around silver medal. Pre-Teen Category: Team I Senior: Free routine: second place; Team II Junior: Creative routine: fourth place. Adult Category: All-around silver medal. We also won 3 trophies for The Youngest Team, The Overall Champions in Child Category, and The Club with the Most Gymnasts Registered awards. There were a total of 25 groups and 165 gymnasts participated in the competition. The medals were based on overall group performance only.


2001 Ontario Provincial Championships, Toronto, May 18-20, 2001

We sent 12 girls to the 2001 Ontario Provincial Championships in Toronto. Group competition: silver medal (11 teams). Individual: 2 silver, 4 bronze, and 11 ribbons (4th-8th).


Kalev/York Rhythmics Invitational 2001, Toronto, April 28-29, 2001

We sent 10 girls to the competition and won 7 medals (4 gold, 3 bronze) and 15 ribbons (4th-8th).


2001 East Divisional Provincial Qualifier, Toronto, April 5-6, 2001

We sent 13 girls to the competition and won 10 medals (4 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze) and 19 ribbons (4th-8th). The medals include one all-around gold medal for individual routine and one gold medal for group routine.


2001 Kanata Cup Invitational Competition, Stittsville, March 24-25, 2001

We sent 12 girls to the competition and won 9 medals (2 gold, 3 silver, 4 bronze) and 16 ribbons (4th-8th). 138 gymnasts from 16 clubs participated in the competition.


The 11th Annual Etobicoke Invitational Competition, Toronto, February 23-25, 2001

We sent 14 girls to the competition and won 17 medals (6 gold, 4 silver, 7 bronze) and 19 ribbons (4th-8th). 181 gymnasts (both provincial and national) from 13 clubs participated in the competition. The medals include two all-around gold medals for individual routines and one silver medal for group routine (7 teams competed).


2000 Zhejiang Provincial Rhythmic Gymnastics Invitational Competition, Hangzhou, China, July 13-15, 2000

We sent 14 gymnasts (both child and adult groups) to attend the 2000 Zhejiang Provincial Rhythmic Gymnastics Invitational Competition in Hangzhou, China, July 13-15, 2000. Our girls and ladies were awarded performance gold medals. This is the first time our club sent gymnasts overseas and it was a great success. The local Chinese Sport Administration is very friendly and provided free meals and accommodation to our gymnasts, as well as free bus services for sightseeing. Everybody enjoy the visit and had a lot of fun. Our performance was aired on the local TV and some of our gymnasts were interviewed by the TV stations.


2000 Red Ribbon 4th Annual Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Competition, Mississauga, June 17, 2000

We sent three groups (pre-competitive, performance, adult) to the 2000 Red Ribbon 4th Annual Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Competition in Mississauga on June 17, 2000. Our girls and ladies won two silver medals and one ribbon (4th). This is the first time for the three groups to compete at the provincial level. There were 13 clubs and about 200 gymnasts participated in the competition. The medals were based on overall group performance only.


2000 Ontario Provincial Championships, Kanata, May 6-7, 2000

We sent 8 girls to the 2000 Ontario Provincial Championships and won one bronze medal and 7 ribbons (4th-8th). This is the first competitive year for our girls and it's the first time for most of our girls competed in the Provincial Championships. There were 17 clubs from Ontario participated in the competition.


2000 Eastern Ontario Provincial Qualifier, Toronto, April 1-2, 2000

We sent 8 girls to the 2000 Eastern Ontario Provincial Qualifier and won one gold medal, one silver, three bronze, and 10 ribbons (4th-8th).


2000 Ontario Winter Game, Sault Ste. Marie, March 17, 2000

We sent 3 girls to the 2000 Ontario Winter Game in Sault Ste. Marie on March 17, 2000 and won a silver medal and a bronze medal.


The 10th Annual Etobicoke Invitational Competition, Toronto, March 4, 2000

This competition was hosted by the Etobicoke Olympium Rhythmic Gymnastics Club and is widely recognized as an important competition at the provincial level. We sent 7 girls to the competition and won 8 medals (3 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze) and 5 ribbons (4th-8th). There were 12 clubs from Ontario participated in the competition. Though most of our girls just have had competitive training for 5 months, some beat those competitors who have had training for 5 years in the same age/level groups.


Rhythmik Quebec Invitational, Montreal, January 15, 2000

This was the first competitive event of the season. We sent 6 girls and won 12 medals (5 gold, 4 silver, 3 bronze) and 4 ribbons (4th-8th). This was the first time most of our girls competed at the provincial level. There were 12 clubs from Quebec and Ontario participated in the competition.
